Description
Unfortunately, this coffee is now sold out. If you enjoy Colombian coffees, we recommend checking out our La Esperanza Geisha.
Alonso Bustos is a second-generation coffee farmer from Huila, a region right in the heart of Colombia’s coffee triangle.
In 2017, his children pushed him to move into the specialty coffee growing world. The move has been well worth it. Alonso’s coffees have become world-famous and are some of the highest ranking in all of Colombia.
This particular coffee is special.
It’s a micro-lot that has been anaerobically processed. After being hand-picked, it’s placed in sealed bags to ferment for 120 hours. Then, it’s laid out onto marquesinas to dry naturally.
The result is stunning.

About this coffee
This is a truly unique coffee, and like nothing that we’ve served before.
It’s complex and just absolutely bouncing with flavours.
When cupping this coffee, our team grabbed flavour notes that are pretty rare in coffee. It kicks off with some passionfruit and nectarine. There’s a sweetness and mouthfeel that feels a lot like maple syrup. Then, there are some lingering flavours like pineapple and cherry.
And, magically, the aftertaste almost feels like Prosecco. It’s fascinating.
This coffee is a part of our “special reserve” which means the availability is extremely limited. We only have 30kg of this coffee, and – if we’re being honest – we are kind of tempted to keep it all for ourselves…
This coffee has a cupping score of 88.
