Description

This is one of our 2024 microlot coffee beans.

It was grown by a single farmer, Felipe Arcila, at the Jardines Del Eden farm in Colombia’s Quindio region.

Felipe Arcila is a 4th generation coffee farmer who was inspired to continue the family trade after travelling to Australia and seeing the coffee culture there.

When he returned to Colombia, he began studying specialty coffee and bought the Jardines del Eden farm with his brother, Carlos.

It is at that same very farm where he grew this very unique microlot coffee.

This microlot coffee first underwent a dry anaerobic fermentation before being gently washed.

The fermentation period lasted 48 hours and during this time dehydrated mandarin skin was added to the anaerobic environment.

After washing, dehydrated mandarin was also placed on the drying beds alongside the cherries.

The environment was kept at 35°C until the desired level of moisture content was achieved by the farmer.

The result is a very unique coffee whose aroma bursts out of the bag on opening.

In the final brew, the sweet, citrus flavour punches through alongside delicate hints of orange blossom and honey.

This is a very sweet and fruity coffee, perfect for drinkers who love to experiment.
